Our unique method
Early learning meets athletics. We turn letters, sounds and numbers into active, age-appropriate games that children can explore with their whole bodies.
A letter, sound, number or shape becomes the cue.
Run, jump, balance or throw as part of the game.
Name, count and try again with friends.
Sports Phonics® connects movement and early learning with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework used in England’s nurseries and Reception classes.

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework guides learning and development from birth to five in England. Explore how Track Tots activities connect with its seven areas.
UK Chief Medical Officers recommend:
Running, jumping, throwing and active play can all contribute. A Track Tots class is one enjoyable part of an active day.

Reception & Year 1
Track Totters run through digraphs and trigraphs, bringing phonics to life through movement.
Two letters, one sound: sh. Three letters, one sound: igh. Children build this knowledge in Reception and Year 1, working towards recognising spellings for 40+ speech sounds in Year 1. We help build this phonics knowledge at Track Tots.

Meet Track Tots®
Jessie Aru-Phillips founded Track Tots® to bring the joy of athletics into early learning. A former GB junior athlete and BBC journalist, she combines active games, clear communication and a warm welcome for every Track Totter.
Jessie knows the positive impact sport can have on both physical and mental well-being and is on a mission to share this through her work at Track Tots.
Sessions are inclusive, with room to move at a child’s own pace. If your child may need extra support, get in touch before class and we’ll discuss what helps them feel comfortable.

From parents

Both my kids adore Track Tots. A positive burst of energy that kids love.
Laura, mum of a 5-year-old and a 2-year-old

As a mum with two young children, who are constantly on the go I was looking for a place where they could burn off some energy and have fun at the same time. Coupled with my very demanding and busy job as a journalist it was important to find a place that was fun, engaging and safe for my little one to get rid of all her extra energy. My daughters absolutely love it.
Thank you so much for looking after Hannah and teaching her sport. She has really enjoyed it, so she will miss you!

Nurseries, schools & childminders

Track Tots Community CIC
Planned launch · 2027
Every child deserves the chance to discover the joy of sport and learning.
We’re developing Track Tots Community CIC to help more children aged 2–6 access educational athletics through Sports Phonics® — learning their ABCs and 123s while running and jumping.
Our aim is to offer free and subsidised places, support children with additional needs, and create opportunities for girls to build confidence through movement.
We’re looking to work with funders, schools and community partners who share that ambition. Could you help us bring more fun, fitness and friendship to children in your community?
